Statistics

Statistics is the science of collecting, analyzing, interpreting, and presenting data. It involves developing and studying methods for collecting empirical data, and is highly interdisciplinary, finding applicability in virtually all scientific fields. Statistics is used in finance, investing, business, marketing, accounting, information technology, and human resources. Probability is a key concept in statistics, used to discuss uncertain events. Descriptive statistics is concerned with methods of presenting and interpreting data using graphs, tables, and numerical summaries.
Inferential statistics is used to make statements about a population based on data from a sample. Resources such as textbooks, online courses, and statistics test banks and solution manuals are available to supplement studying efforts in Statistics.
